Crafting is most fulfilling when the design is original. I don’t have pictures of everything, because many things have been given as gifts from before I had a digital camera.
Button Band: I made this necklace with beaded knitting, ribbon backing, and buttons from my mom’s stash. It can also be worn as a necklace (not pictured). My friend K. loved it! Which made me feel better about not giving into the voice that said, “Keep it for me!”
Butterfly Mittens: These are my new mittens. I ripped them out countless times to get the placement of the butterflies right and to decide on a way to finish the top. They are my favorites of all I’ve made so far.

Handwarmers
Handwarmers: This design is off the chain.

Woven Cable Sweater
Woven Cable Sweater: I was inspired by many of the sweaters in the movie Whale Rider. One in particular I knew I had to try to replicate for a little friend-baby of mine (this is the best picture I can find on the internet). I used a woven cable even though I found out the pattern is actually entrelac.
I’ve made a couple of Elizabeth Zimmerman’s Tomten jackets. I’ll see if my friends can get some pictures.

Blanket Buddy/Snuggly Friend/Bunny Head

(I love his expression here)

Detail
Bunny Head: I have made a few of these over the years. Their original name is Snuggly Friends (the pattern company keeps changing the name), but I can’t stop calling them Bunny Heads after a friend of mine called them that (even though all the others I’ve made have been lambs).

LMM Bowls
LMM Bowls: Here are two small bowls I painted to look like two L.M. Montgomery first edition book covers.

The Lonely Mitten
The lonely mitten: I designed him carefully and then his spouse disappeared last winter. All the yarn left from that project had already been used in others.

Lavender's Blue Mittens

Lavender's Blue Mittens Palmside
Lavender’s Blue Mittens: These mittens for a friend were inspired by the folk song “Lavender’s Blue.”

Scrap Scarf
Scrap Scarf: I made this scarf from scraps leftover from accessories I made for my sisters. I love the color scheme, even though it wasn’t planned. Then one day I found a variegated yarn that had all these same colors in it. I made it into matching mittens which have since served their time and gone to the happy snowfort in the sky.

A Few Hats
A few hats I still have. It’s sad how your favorite pieces wander off; the ones you don’t care that much for stick around. You make new pieces, but it’s not the same. I don’t want my relationships to be like my knits. I want the people I like best to always be where we can warm each other’s spirits. (L-R Vinter Lue, made-up, Hermione hat)

Oldies
Oldies: Back when my style-sense wasn’t fully developed (it still isn’t).
——Book Binding—–
Below are products of my book binding class. As with the knitted items, I have given most of my creations as gifts, so I no longer have them to photo.
